Grant Avenue Reconstruction Proposed Project
The Grant Avenue Reconstruction Project is a proposed transportation and infrastructure improvement initiative focused on modernizing one of Junction City’s key corridors. The project is designed to enhance safety, improve mobility for all users, and strengthen long-term resiliency while supporting economic opportunity and quality of life in a military-connected community. By reimagining Grant Avenue as a complete street, the City aims to create a safer, more connected, and more attractive corridor for residents, businesses, and visitors.
The project includes raising and crowning the 2.2-mile, four-lane roadway with a center turn lane, improving stormwater conveyance through vegetated swales along the shoulders, and adding five bus turnouts, two shared-use paths, enhanced pedestrian crossings at two intersections, and a roundabout at the Washington Street intersection.
As the City moves forward with applying for grant funding to help achieve this vision, community input is an important part of the process. Below, you will find conceptual designs of the proposed project and a survey that takes approximately 8 minutes to complete—your feedback will help strengthen our grant applications and guide future project decisions. We thank you for taking time to invest in our communities future!
