The installation of our new City-Wide Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system will begin Monday, May 11, 2020.
The City has contracted with a third party to execute the installation of these meters. VEPO Metering will perform these upgrades to the water meter reading system. This upgrade is expected to begin with Cycle 1 utility accounts. Cycle 1 is for those individuals located south of Sixth Street or having an account number beginning with the digits of 01-12.
Technicians from VEPO Metering will be replacing the water meter, which is likely located on the outside of your home, on your front lawn. You do not need to be home to receive this upgrade and access to the inside of your home will not be necessary, however if there are any issues, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment. There are several ways to identify a technician –
- VEPO Metering – photo identification
- Grey uniform from top to bottom, with VEPO Metering prominently displayed.
- Their vehicle will have a clearly marked car magnet, identifying them to VEPO Metering and to Junction City.
Please note that this is a mandatory upgrade program, but the process should be quick and easy. It is expected to take no more than one hour, and the water will be disrupted for 15-20 minutes.
The City appreciates your support and cooperation with this very important project. This project will provide the City and residents with a significantly improved metering system that will greatly increase meter accuracy, monitor leaks, reduce the need for estimated billing, increase customer service, and provide a savings to the you and the City.
We look forward to working with you to complete this mandatory project and Thank You for your support in advance. Please watch our website for updates, as they become available.
If you have any questions about this program, please don’t hesitate to contact VEPO Metering at 877-860-8376 or by email at [email protected].
