Police K-9 officer makes arrest on Interstate.

On 041911, at about 1302 hours, Officer Nick Blake of the Junction City Police Department, stopped an RV on Interstate 70, near milepost 295 Eastbound for not having a front license plate and for a cracked windshield. During the stop, Officer Blake spoke with the occupants, and became suspicious of their responses and deployed his K-9 around the vehicle. A positve alert was obtained on the exterior of the vehicle for the odor of narcotics. A subsequent search revealed 52 pounds of high grade marijuana under the bed and in a front nose storage compartment. The marijuana has a street value of more than $260,000. Two men from Lancaster, California were arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, a Glen Howard Stoddard III (55 years old) , and William Herbert Wuthrich Jr (69 years old) . They were held in the Geary County Jail without bond pending their first appearance in Geary County District Court.
