Press Release - Shooting

For Immediate Release: August 8th, 2011

On August 1st, 2011, at around 0942 hours, Junction City Police received information that a man had come into Geary Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. 

The investigation revealed that two men were apparently involved in an altercation in the 600 block of N. Eisenhower and exchanged gunfire. 

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation but a 29 year old Junction City man, Albert Banks, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Crimanl Damage to Property. 

The investigation into the matter continues. Mr. Banks, who was the gunshot wound victim, was treated and released from Geary Community Hospital. He will be held at the Geary County Jail until his First Appearance in Geary County District Court.
