Allen Dinkel, City Manager of Junction City, announces a protest petition was not received regarding the Sunday sales of cereal malt beverage and alcoholic liquor in the original package within the City limits. This concludes the process that began on July 6 when the City Commission adopted an ordinance allowing Sunday Sales. A 61-day protest following two publications in the Official City newspaper was required before the ordinance became in effect. Since no petition was received, the hours of the sales of cereal malt beverages and alcoholic liquor in the original packet on Sundays in the City is now expanded.
Sunday sales cereal beverages and alcoholic liquor in the original package may be made between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. within the City limits of the City of Junction City. Sales of cereal malt beverages and alcoholic liquor in the original package will not be allowed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.
