Junction City's ISO Rating Changes
Junction City Fire Department Press Release
July 25, 2011
The Junction City Fire Department is pleased to announce the results of the Public Protection Classification (PPC) survey by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The ISO rating for Junction City has improved from a Class 4 rating to a Class 3 rating. The rating system is on a scale of 1 to 10. Class 1 represents exemplary fire protection, and Class 10 indicates that the area’s fire suppression program does not meet minimum recognition criteria. In March of 2011 the ISO inspector reviewed the fire department, dispatch center, and city water distribution system.
ISO’s Public Protection Classification Program plays an important role in the underwriting process at insurance companies. In fact, most U.S. insurers- including the largest ones-use PPC information as part of their decision making when deciding what insurance coverage to offer, or prices to charge for personal or commercial property insurance.
This new classification will take effect September 1, 2011.
