Sharon Riley, a Junction City High School alumna with business management studies from Cloud County Community College and Barton Community College, began her career at the Junction City Police Department as a dispatcher in 2004. Recognized for her exceptional skills, she advanced to Dispatch Trainer in 2009, Dispatcher II in 2010, and Communications Supervisor in 2011, where she managed dispatch operations and assisted with the Emergency Communications Center and Records Management System. In 2014, Riley was appointed Director of Police Communications, overseeing the Emergency Communications Center and Records Division, fulfilling key roles including Records Custodian and Terminal Agency Coordinator.
