Eliel Borges

Sergeant Borges is a Florida native. His parents are from Cuba and he can speak 3 languages (English, Spanish, American Sign Language).

Beginning His Career in Public Safety
In January 2001, Sergeant Borges became a patrol officer with the Junction City Police Department after moving to Kansas from Florida. During his employment with the police department, Sergeant Borges was activated and served 15 months as an active duty Military Police Officer on Fort Riley. He returned from active duty in 2003.

In 2005, he graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.

In July 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. During the time that Sergeant Borges served on patrol, he became a Field Training Officer and Field Training Supervisor. Sergeant Borges is currently the Cooper Fitness Instructor, Coban Technology Technician and is involved in the hiring of new officers.

In August of 2016, he was transferred to Community Involvement Unit (CIU) to assume duties of the CIU Sergeant.

Personal Life
Sergeant Borges enjoys golf, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
